I'm at the library, earbuds in listening to music, writing training plans. All of a sudden it strikes me. This is my life! For real!
I got busy real quick and real sudden. It's a blessing! It also means all my hustle is paying off. I've been working my tail off and now the inbox and the calendar are full.
I just want you to know that hard work DOES pay off. It doesn't just go into the ether, never to be rewarded. It may take time. It may take more time than you think is really reasonable, but the universe does give back what you put in.
I got really focused on my goals and also diligent about saying no. Fun is on hold for right now. Basically I took a look at my finances and said holy crap. I didn't realize it because I was still getting by, but I was making next to nothing after expenses. I was living on my tax refund and other random sources of income, not my business. It was a huge wake up call.
I got diligent with my budget - both personal and business. I went to work. I started hustling. Building my referral network. Making personal connections. And saying no to fun. Getting over my whiny self and saying no, we are not taking a roadtrip this spring. You'll have to wait for the fall. And your bank accounts better be in a much better place.
I did a lot of things last year that were frivolous and a bit irresponsible. Namely taking two long road trips and spending many monies during those trips. As if things were great.
And reality finally slapped me upside the head. Thankfully before I crashed and burned.
But it's amazing. After focusing in and getting to it, things started improving almost immediately. The phone was ringing. Clients and other opportunities started coming into my life. And I started accomplishing some of my goals.
So, now, as I sit here writing training plans for 3 new clients and feeling frantic and busy, it strikes me that I'm on top of it. Things are good. And this is my new life.
